Through Random String, our arts and technology development programme, Ludic Rooms aims to give inspirational experiences to all kinds of audiences. We think the Random String Symposium is a vital opportunity for early career practitioners to see work, meet artists and commissioners and see technology in action. The Symposium is followed by a talk and performance by Klaus Obermaier – a leading international innovator in live performance with technology.

Ludic Rooms has aimed to keep prices low and this package of talks, workshops and performance is priced at a very reasonable £45 including a light lunch.

In addition, we are also offering 10 Random String Bursaries for emerging artists in any discipline to attend the Symposium and Klaus Obermaier performance.

By ‘emerging’ we mean artists that are 18+ and are either in full time/part time education or in the first 3 years of their careers.

To apply for the Bursaries, please send your CV, together, plus a statement (200 words max) as to why you’re interested in attending the Random String Symposium to We will only use your contact information for contacting you about your application and will not store it after this process.

The deadline for applications is 5pm 12th November.
